Grow Your Confidence

Gain confidence to take on challenges, both on and off the mat.

As pre-teens navigate the tricky balance of school, friendships, and self-discovery, confidence can feel elusive. Judo gives them a place to accomplish something tangible—learning techniques, mastering moves, and achieving goals. These wins build a quiet self-assurance that they’ll carry into every aspect of life, from our dojo to the classroom and their relationships with themselves and others.✓ Inspire confidence through achievable milestones and growth
✓ Develop a strong sense of accomplishment

Frequently asked by new members

Is my child too old to start judo at 10 or 12?

You are never too old to start judo! Judo is a great sport for beginners at any age. Our coaches adapt lessons to match each child’s skill level, ensuring they feel confident and supported from day one.

Will my child train with much older or more experienced players?

No, we group children by age and ability to ensure safe and appropriate training. Your child will practice with peers of similar size and experience for a positive and supportive environment.

What are the main benefits of judo for 10–12-year-olds?

At this age, judo builds confidence, resilience, and independence. It also teaches respect, teamwork, and discipline, while improving strength and coordination.

How often should my child attend judo classes?

We recommend attending 2 classes per week for steady progress. Consistency helps your child build discipline, skills, stay engaged, and gain the full benefits of training.

What should my child bring to class?

Your child will need a judo gi (uniform) and a water bottle. If they’re trying judo for the first time, we’ll provide a trial gi for them to use.

How is judo different from other sports for pre-teens?

Judo combines physical and mental development, teaching life skills like respect and teamwork while also improving strength, balance, and problem-solving—all in a fun, safe environment.
