Our Judo Club in Northampton is the perfect way for children to build confidence, develop coordination, and learn self-defence skills in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
Judo challenges kids to push limits, achieving small wins that build self-assurance.
We teach practical self-defence, empowering children to protect themselves confidently.
Our lessons emphasise perseverance, showing children that effort leads to progress.
Judo enhances children's physical development by improving their strength, flexibility, and coordination. Look for the yellow sign that says "Abington P.D.C" on Barry Road. The sports hall is located behind the properties, with the entrance next to 72 Barry Road. Enter the garage access path, and follow it until you see the gated sports centre on your right. Walk through the gate and enter the sports hall building. There’s limited parking in front of the sports hall, so you may need to park at the Co-op car park (100 yards away) or on-street parking at Barry Road.

Attend the session that matches your child’s age group!
Yes, absolutely! We prioritise safety by offering age-appropriate training, using padded mats, and having experienced instructors guide each session. We focus on controlled techniques to ensure a safe learning environment for all beginners. Your child will learn safe falling techniques before they are ever thrown—this involves rolling and absorbing impact properly, helping them fall without injury, ensuring they build confidence and skill right from the start.
For your first judo class, please wear comfortable bottoms and t-shirt and bring a bottle of water. Judo suit (gi) will be provided by our club for your trial session at no charge.
If your child loved it, signing up is easy! Just head to the Memberships page and choose the monthly plan that suits you best. Then, you'll be taken to the payment screen.
We have judo suits (judogi) available for sale at the club, and you can view them in our judogi shop. It’s not mandatory to buy from us—you can purchase from any retailer, just make sure it’s a proper judo gi. Judogi are thicker than karate or other martial arts uniforms, offering better protection when the jacket is pulled, reducing discomfort or skin irritation.
Our flexible subscriptions allow you to cancel anytime, with no commitment required, giving you full control over how long you stay with us. We also offer the option to freeze your membership for a full month if needed.
